2019 has almost gone, and the season is now a raft of memories on a sea of sunshine, laughter and good times! So, what’s planned for 2020? The first BIG news is that it’s our 15th anniversary of ownership of Le Chant d’Oiseau. What better way to celebrate than a week of fun? We’ll be […] Continue Reading
IMPORTANT – Covid-19.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, we have been obliged to remain closed. Following the easing of France’s lockdown of the 11th May, some businesses have been allowed to reopen. Our local Bureau de Tourisme have been in touch by email to inform us of the Governmental decree which now allows gîtes and hôtels in the Maine et Loire to reopen under strict conditions pertaining to the continued threat of the virus.
For the moment though, after seeking official government clarification of the specifics, Syb & I have taken the decision to remain closed until further guidance is available. We feel it is too soon, with too much at stake for guests as well as ourselves to risk reopening.
Therefore, we remain closed for the moment, but hopeful of a return to some normality towards the end of May/beginning of June, following further governmental announcements.
So, for the moment, we invite guests who have reserved a gîte of pitch with us in May and June to look again at the availability calendar and think about postponing to later in the year. If this is possible, it’s the best outcome for us. If not, then we will honour bookings made this season, in the 2021 season. We simply don’t have the resources to refund deposits, we sincerely apologise.
We are more hopeful of a reopening of both the campsite and the gîtes in July. For our UK based guests, we’ve been informed of discussions between President Macron and PM Johnson with a view to lifting restrictions on travel between France, the UK and Ireland in order to save your summer holidays.
We will keep you all updated both here and on our Facebook page as details emerge.
Please get in touch by email at firstname.lastname@example.org to re-arrange your holidays with us. Syb & I are missing you all, regulars or otherwise, and Le Chant is ready to receive you when allowed, and looking better than ever.
Above all though, we urge you all to stay home, stay safe in order that the UK be freed from your own lockdown and be allowed to travel once again in the near future.
Thank you all for your continued support in these very difficult times.
We will update this notice as and when things change.

We believe the grass really is greener and the skies bluer here in the ‘Jardin de France’; the ‘Valley of Kings’!
And with so much to see and do here, whatever your interests, it’s no wonder that our well-kept secret is out!
Le Chant d’Oiseau is the place to rest awhile, recharge your batteries and unwind. Hope to see you soon!

Come in, the water's lovely
Here at Le Chant d’Oiseau we don’t promise anything but a place to relax, unwind and cast aside the stresses of everyday life. Whether relaxing in the sun with a good read, or meandering the quiet country lanes by bike or on foot, we invite you to soak up the peace and tranquility of ‘la France profonde’ at its most enchanting.
The western Loire valley is the perfect place to take a holiday, a short break, or relax out of season. From quiet riverside picnics to the stunning Grand Parc Puy du Fou and so much more in between, you and your family can have the holiday you all want. Together!
You can choose from one of our three beautiful gites, created from the ancient farm buildings collectively known as ‘Les Chants d’Oiseaux’ for hundreds of years, or a pitch on our small (but perfectly formed) camping ground. We invite you to spend your time here in whatever fashion you wish, at prices you can afford without sacrifice to quality or comfort.
Le Chant d’Oiseau is perfect for a family get-together, to meet with old friends, or to make new ones.
There’s no pressure, just the promise of your kind of holiday, how you choose to spend it! While we love to make a fuss of a special celebration, we also appreciate that sometimes peace & quiet is just what you need! We’re led by you, our guests.
We regret that NO pets are allowed on site except guide dogs.
