The campsite is situated within the grounds of our ancient farm house. It's a small site, with just 10 pitches on the main field and
two up by the smaller gite, Chardonneret. (Ideal for camping alongside non-camping friends or family!) The grounds are mainly laid to
grass, with over 60 (count them!) mature trees and shrubs offering some privacy as well as shade from the summer sun.
"What a lovely site, have really enjoyed our stay. Will says it is the best site he has ever stayed on! Cath, Andy, James & Will Pointon. The ten pitches are arranged around the outside edge of the site, leaving a large clearing in the centre where you can relax, or let your children play safely. Because Le Chant is a fairly small site, you can see what your children are up to, whilst you relax by your tent or caravan. Each one of eight spacious pitches has a 'UK Type' electric hook-up (6-amp only), and there's enough room to pitch however you feel comfortable. We've also got two non-EHU pitches under the trees giving plenty of shade on those long, hot summer days.
"There's only one thing we don't like about Le Chant, and that's having to leave!! " The Original Maynards. Andy, Nic, Lucy & Izzy
Our charming unisex shower block with exposed beams has oodles of character. Formerly the old holding pen for newborn calves and sheep, it now offers plentiful free hot water for all our camping/caravaning guests. There are two toilets, two showers and three basins, all of which have privacy screens. One of the toilets is a large cubicle with shower and WC, making it suitable for wheelchair users or for families with small children. So there's no reason not to come to Le Chant d'Oiseau! The toilets are always stocked with toilet roll, and we have fresh cotton towels and soap dispensers for your use. We've finished the refurbishments of the shower block, re-tiling throughout and adding an extra basin, cupboards and privacy panels for your comfort! To make it more attractive to those of you who camp in less warmer climes, we've also added a heater in there!
New for 2010 is our Kamper's Kitchen (click on the images above). We've been busy creating a space where those of you with minimal facilities may like to cook indoors! Essentially it's a fully working kitchen, with gas cooker, oven, sink, kettle, microwave and fridge freezer - indoor facilities for outdoors people! This is also where you'll find the Local Information, the book exchange library and the outdoor toys & games! We've also added a new covered potwash area, as well as a covered recycling area too. We hope it's a welcome addition to the facilities here at Le Chant, and hope it helps lengthen your camping season too!

"Very relaxing in a beautiful environment. Héron was a home from home. The weather was very good for end of October. Good luck, we'll be back!" Suzanne, Pete, Jenny & DanielIt's a real pleasure for us to see the same families book their favourite gite, or camping pitch year after year. We look forward to them coming, catching up with their news and seeing how the kids have grown in the past year or so! Why not join our merry band of returning guests?
