Gites
Héron was formerly the farm stables, or 'écurie'. It is fully wheelchair-disabled friendly, with ground floor level access, specially widened entrance and interior doors. Wheelchair access within the gite is made easier where necessary with the use of very shallow ramps. Thoughtful touches such as accessibly positioned plug sockets and 'drive under' wash basins have proved popular with guests.
As well as providing superb wheelchair-friendly facilities, Héron is also a family gite, consisting of two bedrooms, a separate kitchen, separate bathroom and a huge lounge/diner. A private patio to the front of this spacious holiday home provides a focal point for your evenings under the setting sun, whiling away the time with the BBQ, glass of chilled local wine in one hand, food tongs in the other! All outdoor furniture is provided, including table, chairs, BBQ, loungers and cushions etc.
All lets of a week or more include our welcome pack of fresh local goodies, including a bottle of wine to enjoy upon your arrival!
The well-appointed kitchen, combining modern units and fixtures with the traditional beams and 'feel' make this kitchen a pleasure to work in.
The addition of the dishwasher, microwave and washing machine means you'll have more time to spend outside the kitchen than in it!
Although a French kitchen is the 'hub' of the home, and we hope you'll enjoy creating culinary masterpieces here, don't forget to try out your bbq skills too! Especially after a hard day sightseeing!
The large double bedroom in Héron is light, airy and spacious. Electric wall mounted heaters ensure you're toasty in the less warm months too! For those traveling
with very small children, there's plenty of space here for a travel cot, or even a 'put-u-up' bed!
With the shutters closed, it really IS dark, and little ones can be left undisturbed while mum & dad enjoy breakfast (or supper on the patio) in peace!
This picture shows twin-beds in Héron. Now though, to cater for the new 'average' family, we've installed a lovely wooden bunk-bed as well as a single! Check back for pics when we can get in there to take them! The bedroom can be heated in winter by the wall-mounted electric radiator so you can be rest assured of a warm and cosy bedroom for your children!
The spacious bathroom caters for all the family, with bath/wc and basin as well as a shower over the deep bath. There's an electrically heated towel rail which gives off just the right amount of warmth to take off the chill in winter, or to ensure a lovely warm towel when you need it!
Note. As with all our gites, we supply all cleaning materials, as well as some toilet rolls to get you started etc. We ask that the gites are left clean at the end of your stay, but we don't expect you to spend your last day preparing it for the next guests, that's our job!.

Thank you so much for the last eight days. This has got to be the next best place to heaven. We have never relaxed or rested so much, the sense of peace & tranquility here and homeliness that is so evident as soon as you come onto the site is undoubtably down to you both and your family.
