Gites

Hibou was originally the hayloft for the stables below. Nowadays though, it's been renovated to provide a high-level of comfort and practicality for our guests. Named after the family of owls who've lived here in peace for years, Hibou sets the standard for what we have in mind for Le Chant d'Oiseau. We're proud of what we've created here.

Once again, Hibou, like Héron is a family gite, consisting of two large bedrooms, a separate shower room and a huge lounge/diner. A private garden area has been set aside to the rear of this delightful holiday home where you can relax on the recliners, glass of chilled local wine to one side, and a book, face down to the other, while you doze in the sun. A BBQ is provided as are a table, chairs, cushions etc.

All lets of a week or more include our welcome pack of fresh local goodies, including a bottle of wine to enjoy upon your arrival!

Climbing the outside staircase so much a part of French farm buildings leads you through the pretty archway of forsythia and up into what was once an important part of Le Chant d'Oiseau farm life - the hayloft.

The massive lounge come kitchen/diner area is light and airy. The traditional beams combine with the modern look to give a sense of space, heightened by the 'to die for' views across open countryside to the rear. To the front, a pretty dormer opens to reveal a flower-filled courtyard.

Once again, the kitchen is a combination of modern and traditional. We've reclaimed some materials from nearby villages, as well as from around Le Chant d'Oiseau and placed them here, where we know they'll be appreciated! We believe everything you need is here, but if we've forgotten anything, just ask!

The light and airy double is both large and cosy at the same time!

Although this picture of the twin room shows two singles, we've recently added a bunk bed in there, so it now sleeps three children with acres of space to spread out toys and games too!

Hibou's private garden - all you'll need to enjoy the outdoor life!

The pretty, private garden gives more than enough space to enjoy your sunbathing on the loungers in privacy, while dad takes over the cooking duties on the BBQ!

Watch the buzzards soaring high overhead, swooping now and then to catch their prey. Because Le Chant is situated amongst unspoilt countryside, we often have deer visit us. Sometimes passing very close to the fence.

Thanks for making our holiday such a special one. Don't think we have ever relaxed so much. It is truly a 'magical' place and we wish you every success in your venture
